Essential Functions/Duties: Under limited supervision design and develop new products according to the New Product Development process which will typically include, input for project planning, 3D concept modelling; detailed design; detailed drawings and models; product cost estimates, prototype development and test. Produce accurate layouts and detail drawings/solid models, following all internal procedures, to AMOT and relevant British and international standards. Liaise with Purchasing / Manufacturing departments to ensure that the best possible costs are leveraged for prototype and production parts, and that all parts are fit for purpose. Plan and track product development efforts. Provide additional support for models, design drawings and BOM as needed. Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required. Perform product support functions for both internal and external customers. Maintain customer and vendor communications and update technical documenct. Ensure that all testing required to demonstrate that the new product meets specification is performed and appropriately documented. Participate in, or manage any testing, To write, or manage external services to write, manuals or instruction sheets for products to include procedures, limitations of use, maintenance, spares, warnings, overviews and any other relevant or necessary information. Follow all defined internal quality procedures, and internal design standards. Ensure that designed products comply with all compulsory standards applicable to the product and country of sale.
